Terra Cottages is a short drive from the rugged, unspoiled beauty of Newport State Park, a semi-wilderness area offering hiking, swimming, and nature activities. The many performances, restaurants, galleries and shops of Door County are also easily accessible.

While staying here you can drop a line from one of the regular fishing charters that leave the village daily or enjoy an a trip on an excursion boat across the beauty of Death's Door Passage to Washington Island, the oldest Icelandic settlement in North America.

Divers can also explore shipwrecks remarkably well preserved in the cold water of Death's Door.
